Award winning English Whisky

We're proud to make whisky the old-fashioned way, using slow processes, traditional equipment and honest, local ingredients. James Nelstrop's original goal for the distillery was to create England's finest single-malt whisky. This has been our sole ambition for nearly 16 years and is what continues to drive us today.

Our Norfolk location is key to the exceptional quality of our whisky. Pure Breckland water is drawn from the spring underneath the distillery and our barley is sourced locally. Waste grain and liquid from the distilling process are turned into cattle feed and fertiliser for local farms. Our process is over 90% more efficient than a traditional distillery as all of our cooling water is kept in a closed seal loop and returned to the ground after use. This reduces the use of ground water by around 94%.

Our 10 acre site is also used to grow cricket bat willows which act as a carbon capture and help to slow rain run-off from the site. This reduces the risk of flooding and provides additional habitat for wildlife.
