OUR STORY

The English Distillery was England's first registered whisky distillery in over a century. It is now widely recognised as the producer of the country's finest whisky.

Our Norfolk Home

In 2005, James Nelstrop and his son Andrew decided to build England's first whisky distillery in over a century. The beautiful site they chose in Norfolk was above a natural source of sweet, mineral-rich water. The same water that has been at the heart of every bottle of whisky since 2026.

All of our whisky is made from grain sourced from our local maltsters or grown on the family farms.

Norfolk's unique microclimate, with its clean air, mild winters and dry summers, provides ideal conditions for cask maturation.

Bottled

After distillation, every drop is matured in carefully selected casks, each one checked by hand, and then aged and bottled on-site under the care of our distillers.

Today, our wonderful whiskies are enjoyed, shared and celebrated around the world.
