We are thrilled to announce that our much-loved Norfolk PX was awarded the Golden Fork from England at the 2025 Great Taste Awards, hosted by the Guild of Fine Food.
Bringing together some of the best food and drink producers in the world, as well as key figures from across the industry, it was a true celebration of flavour and artisanal talent.
The most delicious product from England has been confirmed as our very own The Norfolk PX. The aged Pedro Ximénez sherry, refortified in whisky and aged in oak for over eight years, was shortlisted from 14,340 entrants, 5,680 of which achieved a 1-, 2-, or 3-star Great Taste award.
Other contenders for the highly coveted Golden Fork from England were miso'grette from 'grette and No.1 Chicken Liver Parfait from Waitrose.
The judges felt that The Norfolk PX really stood out because of its creativity. They felt it was a really clever product – memorable and inspired. There was a beautiful amber colour traditional to PX as well as raisin sweetness on the nose. However, the addition of the whisky brought a real lift and a ‘delicious little hum’ afterwards. They said it was a ‘brave marriage’ that ‘came together so well’ to create the perfect aperitif or digestif. They commented on the dark glossy appearance and amber edges, and the whisky warmth, which gave an elegant, robust flavour accompanied by a velvety mouthfeel.
Our co-founder, Andrew Nelstrop, commented: “The Norfolk PX is one of our hidden gems, often overshadowed by its sister whiskies when it comes to marketing. However, when it comes to production, a lot of love and care is lavished on making this amazing, versatile drink. To have been acknowledged by Great Taste is a real achievement, and the team are rightly proud – there have definitely been some cheerful smiles around the distillery. We’re now looking forward to Christmas and hoping that the addition of the Great Taste logo boosts the popularity of our stellar tipple”.

What is Great Taste?
Great Taste is recognised as the most influential food and drink accreditation scheme in the world, not only because it was established over 30 years ago, but also for the robustness of its multi-layered review process. The judging panel of over 500 industry experts, including chefs, critics, food technologists, retailers, food writers and other specialists, pored over each product over the course of 110 days.
Every entry is judged on its own merit as a standalone product and tasted completely blind. There is no packaging, or hint of who has made it, just a factual description provided by the producer as guidance. The judges consider flavour first and foremost, followed by appearance, aroma, texture and mouthfeel before it is determined whether the product warrants one of the famous black and gold seals of approval.
In total 39.6% (5,680) of entries received an accolade in 2025. There were 3,899 1-star awards, 1,508 2-stars and only 273 products (1.9% of all entrants) received the coveted Great Taste 2025 3-star award.
