WHO ARE WE?
The
English Whisky Co. is now established as the first
and only registered whisky distilling company in England.
Our objective is to produce excellent quality whisky
that will be able to compete with some of the finest
whiskies currently on the market. We aim to use the
very best local ingredients, in turn giving us a selection
of unique and truly excellent whisky.
St.George's
Distillery became operational in December 2006, and we opened our doors to the public in 2007. This summer (2008) we are hoping to launch our online shop which will sell a selection of unusual whisky and many of our other great merchandise. The gift shop is stocked with some great gifts and St.George's merchandise along with a comprehensively stocked whisky shop which houses a collection of unusual and collectable whiskies from around the world. There is always someone available to give advice if needed. We have a great coffee shop, which although is not serving hot snacks or sandwiches yet, still has great coffees, teas, soft drinks and snacks.
You can also join a fantastic tour, (one leaves every hour, or more if there is demand) explaining all about the whisky making process finishing with some tasting of our great new liqueurs and creams, which are now available to purchase in the gift shop. Now that the Distillery doors have opened we will be spending some time landscaping outside where you will be able to walk amongst the willows down to the banks of the Thet and enjoy the tranquility of the river.
The distillery sits
on the banks of the river Thet just off the A11 between
East Harling and Roudham on the B1111.
